Ensure a safe and stable terrace with SOLIDOR
Prevent uplifting and improve the stability of your terrace.
When installing tiles on adjustable pedestals, a popular solution for easy maintenance and discreetly hiding cables, wind stability is an important consideration. Especially in wind-sensitive environments such as coastal areas or large open spaces with little vegetation, tiles can be lifted by strong gusts of wind or the suction effect. Although there are currently no official standards for installing tiles on adjustable pedestals, it is crucial to minimize this risk.
SOLIDOR offers several solutions to prevent uplifting and provide extra stability for your terrace:
Sticksol
The patented Sticksol top plate features a self-adhesive bitumen layer, which prevents tiles from shifting and reduces sound transmission by 75 percent. This solution is particularly effective for heavily trafficked terraces and can provide extra stability, especially along the edges of the terrace. Sticksol is combined with our comfort pedestals for optimal performance.
Tilelock visible & invisible
This round accessory can be installed either visibly or invisibly to hold tiles in place. The Tilelock is placed at the corners of adjacent tiles and secured to the pedestal with a stainless steel A2 screw. The invisible version is discreetly installed between the grooves of the tiles.
The effectiveness of the Tilelock, both visible and invisible, is enhanced when combined with a Sticksol self-adhesive top plate.
Upwind prevention
Specifically developed for our Structusol range, this invisible accessory is placed between the grooves of the tiles, providing a 4 mm joint width. It ensures tiles remain securely in place, even during strong gusts of wind.
