How can you finish the edges of a raised terrace on adjustable pedestals?
A terrace installed on adjustable pedestals offers many advantages during installation. However, on terraces and/or steps supported by pedestals, the open sides often remain visible. As a manufacturer, SOLIDOR offers several solutions for finishing these open sides. Depending on the desired appearance and the support system used, the installer can choose between an aluminium finishing profile or an edge finish using the same terrace tiles. SOLIDOR also offers solutions for closed sides, helping to prevent damage to the terrace tiles where they meet adjacent walls as a result of movement or shifting.
Sidesol - Quickly finished without cutting files
A fast and clean finish, without the need to cut tiles, while maintaining a uniform appearance - this is possible with the Sidesol finishing profiles. With the Sidesol range, the entire edge of the terrace structure is concealed behind an aluminium finishing profile.
Available in different heights and shapes: 74, 126 and 178 mm. Matching connectors allow for a continuous and seamless finish along the entire terrace edge. The profiles are available in three colours: black, medium grey and corten steel.
Finishing with the same terrace tiles
With the SOLIDOR edge-finishing solution, this is no problem. The system is combined with the adjustable pedestals and the adjustable perimeter pedestals to ensure correct support along the terrace edges.
Structusol edge finishing - also suitable for more complex laying patterns and large-format tiles
The Structusol range is often used for large-format tiles or more complex laying patterns. This does not limit the finishing options: the terrace edges can also be neatly finished using the same terrace tiles. SOLIDOR offers two dedicated accessories for this purpose: the INOX L and the Structusol Edge Finish accessory. The INOX L is used to finish the open front sides with the same terrace tiles, while the sides running parallel to the aluminium profiles are finished using the Structusol Edge Finish accessory.
CML top plate or wall finishing - for closed terrace edge
When a terrace is finished against closed edges, the Wall Finish accessory (4, 6 or 10 mm) or the CML top plate (10 or 20 mm joint) can be used. Combined with an AK adjustable pedestal, the CML top plate also allows the installer to integrate an LED strip. This is not its only advantage: when the roofing curves upwards along the edge, the CML top plate can also provide a stable supporting base.
SOLIDOR also offers the Wall Finish accessory. These small house-shaped accessories are fitted to the edge of the tile and are available in joint widths of 4, 6 or 10 mm. Their main purpose is to help prevent damage to the tiles caused by movement or vibration.
