Already familiar with the different joint widths when placing a terrace with the Structusol system?

You have probably heard of the SOLIDOR Structusol system. This system is often chosen when installing large format tiles on SOLIDOR adjustable pedestals, to give this extra stability and for a smoother installation.

The Structusol system is an aluminum support system that is installed under the tiles and is supported by SOLIDOR adjustable terrace pedestals from the Comfort or the Premium range. This system provides additional flexibility in stability and laying pattern. In addition to the choice of system use, the joint distance can also be chosen, just as with our Comfort pedestals.

There are three joint widths in the Structusol range:

The joint width can be a subjective choice, for example when someone chooses to have the same joint width as the floor inside the house. In the case of the inside floor, 1 or 2 mm joint width is often chosen. If you want the same joint width for both inside and outside, you can choose the smallest joint in our Structusol range, namely the C2X accessory with 2 mm joint width.

The choice of the joint width also depends on the type of tile and its dimensions. The standard joint width in the Structusol range is 3 mm. This joint is ideal for drainage. In addition, there is also the C6X accessory, which has a joint width of 6 mm. This joint distance is most often chosen when there is a lot of strong wind and wind uplift can occur, but also when choosing to use extra-large tile sizes. The 6 mm joint width is also suitable for terraces in the mountains where heavy rainfall can take place.
